What is the One Choice?

The one choice is a position rather than an event or a manifestation. Rather than a specific outcome the one choice indicates direction and attitude. As with most things the completeness of any choice proves itself out over time. It is with that understanding that the one choice indicates the overall impact of the choice made either to the detriment or the benefit and welfare of an integrated system comprising of people, places and things . It resides in the infinity of options that we have as individuals in the course of our daily lives and is found on a scale somewhere between "The Greatest Good" and the "Base Self" of the human experience. The One Choice is realized in that moment before choosing to go either this way or that, to be selfless of selfish in the nature of how we make the decision. It is a real and definitive place, a crossroad at which just before turning right or left, moving ahead or retreating, we contemplate, evaluate, and ultimately judge what will be our best course of action. It is a place we visit countless times in the progression of a usual day, and many more times than that when circumstances propel us towards the unknown due to events beyond our control. The decisions made are usually small, seemly innocuous, but they formulate the basis for the large fundamental and potentially life changing decisions that have been made in the past and which today comprise our blessings and our grief. As that was true of yesterday so will it be true for tomorrow. In other words when your choice is towards the "Greatest Good" then, as a magnet attracts, or a compass directs, you align yourself towards a tomorrow of blessings and possibilities instead of limitations and restrictions. It has been said, and I concur, that the only real choice we have is not in what we choose but in how we choose to respond and accept change. "All for the Best" my mother used to say, in other words in looking for that "Silver Lining in the Clouds" another of her expressions, one points oneself towards the benefits within a change in life no matter how difficult or unwanted that change may be. When one can see beyond the immediate impact of a change in one's life and look down the road towards potentially better times and outcomes then with that thought process comes the option of choosing instead of reacting to the immediate effect of change. The same holds true for changes that popular sentiment and thinking determines to be wanted and good in their nature. If you believe that lots of money can cure your problems, more of anything is better than less, and that the antidote for unhappiness is found in the acquisition of outward things, then you limit you understanding of your own nature and that of others. There can be no one answer that holds true for all problems, as there can be no one cure for all disease. The question and the answer both encompass the hidden truth which is, that all is movement, a flow towards or away from, as all beginnings are created from another ending and so forth. The world is in constant movement, the static experience is an illusion, vibration is the essence of all matter and manifestation, all life interacts and is both affected and effects change in all other life. Thoughts are real. They create the experience of outward life and inner reality. Only our thoughts cannot be occupied, controlled or manipulated unless we allow it. True freedom resides in our thinking and constructs, in our projection of a liberated self or one of bondage. To be free in a jail cell is as possible as to be imprisoned in the wealth of millions. In truth it is the consistency of those long forgotten decisions that make up the basis of the "Events of our Lives" They make up in large part the condition of our health, our relationships with ourselves and others. Our thought are our essence and they make up that reflection of ourselves in the world as is manifested in all that we experience. On the scale of the choice rarely do we see the 100% of complete surrender in either direction, but rather a degree towards either end of the scale. The measure of how we decide is a direct reflection of where we find ourselves in relation to how we see, believe, have faith in, and ultimately believe in who we are and what we stand for individually and collectively. Spirit shows the way but only within surrender and forgiveness can we create the foundation of joy out of the sorrow our lives have known. The choosing toward the "Greatest Good" and away from the "Base Self" corresponds directly to our understanding and faith in seeing the best in ourselves and those that are a part our lives. Weather that be a family member , friend, or stranger, our response, our choice of response, determines the final outcome. Beyond the immediacy of self interest, pride, and need, lies a universe of limitless resources, untapped capacity, and requited love. Within our world of compromise the illusion is, has always been, and will continue to be separation. It is when realization illuminates the universal mind with the all, the all being one and the one being all, then inner peace becomes a transcendent cognitive experience.
